Terms of Service

Effective date: 16 June 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Contentrain’s open-source packages, Studio SaaS workspace, MCP Connector, CDN delivery, APIs, and any related services (collectively, “Services”) provided by Contentrain (“we”, “us”, “our”). By using any Service you agree to these Terms.

1. Definitions

  • Account: A registered Studio workspace tied to an email address and billing plan.
  • Content: JSON, Markdown, media assets, model schemas, and any other data you store, manage, or deliver through the Services.
  • Open-source packages: MIT-licensed CLI, MCP, SDK, rules, skills, and types packages published at github.com/Contentrain/ai.
  • Studio: The hosted SaaS application at studio.contentrain.io for team-based content operations.
  • MCP Connector: The remote HTTP MCP server that lets AI clients perform bounded content operations.
  • Git Provider: GitHub, GitLab, or another provider whose repository you connect as a content source.

2. Eligibility and Account Registration

  • You must be at least 18 years old to create an Account.
  • You must provide accurate registration information and keep it up to date.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and all activity under your Account.
  • One person or legal entity may not maintain more than one free Account.

3. Open-Source Package License

The open-source packages are licensed under the MIT License. You may use, copy, modify, and distribute them subject to the terms of that license. These Terms do not restrict rights granted by the MIT License.

The Studio core is licensed under AGPL-3.0. Self-hosted deployments of Studio are subject to that license. Contact [email protected] for a commercial self-hosted license if AGPL-3.0 does not meet your requirements.

4. Studio SaaS Plans and Billing

Plans

Contentrain offers Starter, Pro, and Enterprise plans. Current pricing is published at contentrain.io/pricing. Plan limits (seats, storage, bandwidth, AI messages, etc.) are described there.

Payment

  • Paid plans are billed monthly in advance via Stripe.
  • All fees are non-refundable except as required by law or as described in Section 4 (Termination).
  • We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days’ notice. Your continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

Overages

Metered usage beyond your plan’s included allowance is billed at the overage rates published on the pricing page, provided you have overages enabled in Studio Settings. If overages are disabled, usage pauses at the plan limit.

Free Trial

New Starter and Pro accounts may receive a 14-day free trial. At the end of the trial, billing begins unless you cancel.

5. Acceptable Use

You may not use the Services to:

  • Store, transmit, or deliver content that is illegal, fraudulent, defamatory, or infringes third-party intellectual property rights.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any system, account, or network.
  • Introduce malware, ransomware, or any harmful code through content, media, or API payloads.
  • Use the MCP Connector to automate operations that violate the policies of your AI client provider.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract proprietary components of Studio beyond what open licenses allow.
  • Resell or sublicense Studio SaaS access without a written reseller agreement.
  • Use the Services in any way that harms Contentrain’s infrastructure, reputation, or other users.

6. Your Content

  • Ownership: You retain all ownership of your Content. We claim no intellectual property rights over it.
  • License to us: You grant Contentrain a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, and deliver your Content solely to provide the Services.
  • Responsibility: You are solely responsible for the legality, accuracy, and appropriateness of your Content.
  • No training: We do not use your Content to train machine learning models. See the MCP Connector Privacy Addendum for details.

7. Git Provider Integration

The Services connect to your Git Provider repository. You are responsible for:

  • Granting Contentrain the minimum necessary permissions on your repository.
  • Complying with your Git Provider’s terms of service.
  • Ensuring your repository does not contain Content that violates these Terms.

We write to your repository only on your explicit instruction (content save, branch merge, etc.). We do not read repositories you have not connected.

8. Uptime and SLA

We target 99.5 % monthly uptime for Studio and the MCP Connector. Scheduled maintenance is announced at least 24 hours in advance. We do not offer financial SLA credits on Starter or Pro plans. Enterprise plans may include a written SLA — contact [email protected].

9. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy and MCP Connector Privacy Addendum explain how we collect, use, and protect personal data. By using the Services you consent to those practices.

10. Intellectual Property

The Contentrain name, logo, Studio interface, and proprietary documentation are our intellectual property. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of our intellectual property to you.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Services are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Contentrain’s total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the Services is limited to the greater of (a) the fees you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim, or (b) €100. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages even if advised of the possibility.

13. Termination

By you

You may cancel your subscription at any time through Studio Settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You remain responsible for fees accrued to that date.

By us

We may suspend or terminate your Account immediately if you violate these Terms, fail to pay fees when due, or if we are required to do so by law. We will give reasonable notice where practicable.

Effect of termination

On termination, your right to use Studio ceases. Your Content in your Git repository is not deleted by us — you retain it through your Git Provider.

14. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Turkey (or, for Enterprise customers with a signed agreement specifying another jurisdiction, that jurisdiction). Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally shall be referred to the courts of Istanbul, Turkey, unless both parties agree otherwise in writing.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Services after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
